New X-Men: First Class Pics Look A Lot Better

Posted by Craig Byrne | X-Men: First Class | Thursday 20 January 2011 10:29 pm

So you didn’t like that first X-Men: First Class image?

Neither did director Matthew Vaughn.

“I freaked out on them yesterday,” Vaughn told /Film. “I don’t know where the hell that came from. I don’t think it’s a Fox image. It’s not a pre-approved image. When I found out, I said, what the f— is this s—, and Fox is running around trying to figure out what happened as well. I agree. It’s like a bad photoshop, which maybe it was by someone. It didn’t reflect the movie. I was shocked when I saw it.”

“We’re not bastardizing X-Men,” Vaughn promised. “I’m trying to get them back to being whole again.”

The /film piece (which can be found here) also premiered two new images. Check them out below. Now that’s more like it!

Black Panther Movie Back In Development

Posted by Craig Byrne | Black Panther | Thursday 20 January 2011 8:52 pm

Black PantherTHR is reporting today that Marvel will again be trying to produced a movie based on the Black Panther character.

Documentary filmmaker Mark Bailey is the latest to write a take on the character, with Kevin Feige producing.

The Panther, a.k.a. T’Challa, is the king of Wakanda, an African nation that has many valuable resources.

The company has hired Mark Bailey, who hails from the documentary film world, to pen a take on the character, the king of a resource-rich fictional African country who becomes a super hero. Marvel’s Kevin Feige is producing. Attempts had been made to develop a Black Panther before, but this is the first time since the property fell back under the Marvel banner.

The new movie X-Men: First Class is allegedly due out this summer, yet we haven’t really seen or heard much from the actual production.

Well, now an official publicity photo has made its way out. And… erm… I’m having flashbacks to that Generation X TV-movie. Let’s hope the film itself wins us over. If not… can we have an X-Men TV series instead?

Left to right: Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggart), January Jones (Emma Frost/The White Queen), Some Red Guy, Nicholas Hoult (The Beast), Lucas Till (Havok), Zoe Kravitz (Angel Salvatore), Jenifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Charles Xavier)
